Mystical Tattoo Ink (Artefact 4)
When applied, gives access to 7 Evocations.

Suggested Evocations:
"Needle to Ink. Ink to Needle" - Activate to allow Tattoos to act as Light Artefact Weapons (decide style/tags at time of activation - including "unarmed" - or possibly ONLY "unarmed")
"Your kung-fu Cannot Harm Me!" - a successful defence against an attack powered by a Charm means that Charm cannot be used against me for the rest of this combat.
"Your majicks Cannot Harm Me" - Some kind of defence against Sorcerous attacks.
"Follow My Lead" - When instructing Students, the tattoos leave trails of Ink in the air, making it easier to understand the moves being taught. Gain <insert bonus here> to teaching Martial Arts.
"Mark of the Favoured" - something akin to Underling-Promoting Touch (Presence, P.370) by marking a subject with the Ink

Silken Shirt (Artefact 3)
Provides +3 Soak. Does not count as Armour.
In a situation when Presence is appropriate, provides an extra +Presence Soak.
Will always look clean and tidy.
No Evocations.

How is this looking?

NOTES:
Are there any Themes for Ink? I was thinking of having one arm with Tiger-stripes and the other as Crane-feathers.
Are there any Attunement costs?
I have a note by the Ink that says 1/evoc. Can't remember what it means! Sorry!

The top end Dodge charm does this-cost on that is high. Based on that this is OTT

Reasonable. Maybe allow counter magic?

Tiger: maybe.
Crane: Fluttering Cry of Warning (one of the two pre-Form charms) allows reflexive Defend Other (3 motes).

While I would like extra Combat Power, I would be interested in some non-combat abilities as well.

Your kung fu cannot harm me. Will need restriction to MA or another attack form and will involve a WP expenditure. Kind of powerful

your magics cannot harm me. Perhaps a reflexive clash to counter the spell. Likely to replicate single point mechanic.

Empowered Tiger. In combination with the alpha strike? Not going to approve this on a free permenant basis. Will cost. Not sure what.

Hundred Shadows Ways is the 5th Charm in a Dodge tree, and works against any (non-Excellency) Charm for 6 motes (Committed).

I'm happy to say MA Only.

Another idea for Empowered Tiger (less frequent usage?) could be to knock someone out of Form, requiring them to spend a simple action (or Special Activation) to re-enter their Form.

The Ink Remembers
By passing a tattooed area across a scroll, page of a book, etc, at normal reading speed, the tattoo shifts to copy the text/images/etc.
The Ink can be made to roll around, exposing certain sections of the text, or hidden from view, as needed.
Activation cost?
1 mote committed per page copied?

Hundred shadows is a level 5 dodge charm. Requires Dodge 5 and four other charms to buy. It is not unreasonable to put limitations in when you are cherrypicking other characters cool stuff.

I happily agreed with your suggested limitation and am open to discussion for costs etc.
I am also open to suggestions of other powers.

As I will be paying 12 Solar XP to gain the equivalent of an "Artefact Weapon with Front-Loaded power", I am hoping that the flavourful effects I suggest will be attractive enough to make it feel worthwhile.

I am trying not to load the tattoos with only Combat Powers but would definitely like to have 1 Offence, 1 Defence and 1 Combat Utility.

In line with the Fan (Space Between Space) and the Wrack Staff (1,000 Yard Step), maybe a Movement effect would be appropriate?

Needle to Ink, Ink to Needle. Free. Permanent. Scene . The Tatoos act as Light Actifact weapons appropriate to the Form adopted. Activation of a charm from another style triggers the tatoos to change configuration to a weapon appropriate to that Style. Physically the weapons look like line drawings written into the air. They activate whenever form is assumed. If disarmed that evocation is disrupted until the end of scene.

Your Kung-Fu Cannot Harm Me. 4m, reflexive, Stackable, committed. By defeating a charm from a martial artist opponent you may remember a component of the perfect defence to render that charm ineffective for the rest of the combat. The rest of the attack still occurs and the opponent still pays the cost of the ineffective charm.

Your Magics cannot harm me.1-3WP, 1m. Reflexive. You May Clash an offensive Sorcery or shaping attack aimed at yourself or an ally whom you are defending. If you are successful the spell is disrupted in a colourful but harmless display of lights. Must be in Crane Form to implement and such is the rigour of the defensive Kata that you Must select Full Defence or Defend Other on your next action.

World Image Symetry: 4m/ 4m, 1WP. Scene. ( requires Craft: Calligraphy). Drawing the Ink of your exaltation upon the skin of the world your may create any form of basic object for your personal use. Spending a WP point allows others to use the items or to make things which are capable of motive force. All such objects resemble line drawings and are unmistakable.

What shall the last one be?
We did discuss a ranged attack from the Ink interacting with my Anima Banner.

Not that I'll be buying many yet, I have to boost Investigation to usable levels!

Solar Rakken: 5m,2i,1WP,1-3A. Simple. Decisive -only. Honing the force of his Judgement into a lambent charge of pure solar power as energy pours from the Solars caste mark focusses through the tattoos on his hands and flashes out to strike an opponent.

This attack employs Dexterity + MA and does lethal damage with a base damage of essence + extra successes. The Rakken can Strike an opponent at medium range, ignores hardness, and cannot be blocked or dodged without a charm. In addition further levels of Anima can be expended to enhance the range at one per range band allowing the solar to strike opponents up to extreme range. Against Demons, Fae or inhabitants of the Underworld the Rakken inflicts Aggravated damage. Damage inflicted by this attack does not include the Solar Initiative and does not reset him to base initiative.

Solar Rakken may be used once per combat unless the Solar takes a Significant opponent down in one attack.

I wasn't sure how close to existing effects you wanted.
I think Underling Promoting Touch covers the effect quite well, so I struggled to come up with anything "similar yet different".
The 7m (Committed) of UPT means that it must be for a good reason. I'm not going to be Promoting people left, right and centre!

If you are talking about the Lore training Charms, here is what I understand:
Flowing Mind Prana: Pay for an NPC's stat/skill increase. Roll at and of story to regain XP (~1/2). (Has 2 prerequisite Charms)
Tireless Learner Method: Pay 1xp. Reroll the XP-regain roll (improving regain to ~3/4)
Legendary Scholar Curriculum: Multiple NPCs benefit from the XP at once.

With 2 Dojos, Tiger Warrior Training, and downtime Projects available, I can already train up battle groups.

I was thinking that the Tattoos could pick out individuals who had shown great promise and push them to the peak of their ability

Sounds like Flowing Mind Prana - Limited to MA skill (and Physical attributes?)

Are we on the same page?
