What do ppl reckon to a servitor crew?

Basically we impose a -10 penalty on our BS and have a crew the majoroty of who are a bit simple. In return we get better crew (assuming they are good quality) and allow us to be able to ignore moral and worry alot less about casualties.

In terms of ship points we make small saving ( life support and crew quarters can ve crap) wich gets invested in combat servitors and luxery quarters for us (luxery quarters are fab and I want them - the downside is the crew dont normally like them).

We would need to probably use on of our free kit picks (as it is my idea I would do this).

The main reason to do this is that it makes our ship a bit unusual......

I don't like the idea, it's far too dull. What's the point of having a giant starship with tens of thousands of people on it if you make them all mindless drones.

With a proper crew you can have all sorts of weird and wonderful things going on in the underdecks (or whatever they are called). Black markets, pit fighting, feuding ship families, generational stowaways, ork bike races and generally a huge pool of potentially interesting characters to use and abuse.

As far as I remember the rules there is also a manoeuvre penalty along with the BS penalty. If we want a relatively fragile ship I think we need all the piloting bonuses we can get.

It also prevents Hit and Run manoeuvres and so reduces our combat options.

Edited for spelling
