Its only players on the boards and occationally a crew member.

I tempted to say screw it and either:

a)Not bother at all,

b)Just turn up to the event and play, what ever.

At the moment a) is way ahead.
The opening date for new players is 5 days away and its six weeks to the event.
I've heard nothing, so charaters and group planning would have to be quick.
I'm hacked of with the lack of communication from the refs, they just don't seem to care.

In that case I definitely won't be at this event.

Yup, at the minute, I'm tempted to not bother with any of these events and hope that someone who is willing to work with group ideas or, at least, communicate sets up a competing version. Sad

Cheers,
Tim

Okey dokey...

Waypoint at: http://www.waypointlrp.co.uk

This is currently running, and is kind of a Farscape/Dr Who/Blake's 7 sci-fi thing. Its quite good. A mixture of combat and talky events.

Riftworld at: http://www.aliensphere.co.uk/

This is on hold until the end of this year, I think, and is an outstanding survival horror based on a combo of WH40K and CoC. Good intensity and high level of RP. Its currently my favourite game.

I've heard about riftworld.
The thing that put me off was it was discribe as a 40K event, but wasn't (being a hard core 40Ker and playing an imperial guardsman at the gathering)Confused

I would be willing to give it a go and just not play a Guardsman, Tech preist, Sister of Battle (yeah we've all see the pictures of my crowan rose! Very Happy )

In fact, yeah, hell... Twisted Evil
I'll go as a space marine commander with power fist (double strenght attack) Lightning claw (re-rolls wounds) Jump pack (double move) Artificer armour (2+ save) Iron Halo (Force field, 4+ save) Terminator honours (+1 attacks) and some other stuff I can't remember...... Rolling Eyes

Just Joking!!!!!!!!!! Rolling Eyes

Err...the 40K influence is mostly in the warp/chaos side of things, and the names of weapons and armour.

The actual cultures and characters are fairly different....

After looking at the new site (its along time since I'd heard about it!)

I see the background.
The time when earth is cut off from the rest of the universe by warp storms, circa 25K, the age of strife.
About 5000 years before the Emporer, makes sence.

I played this sh!t toooooo much.......
Shocked

Still vaguely interested.

Pretty much - although there is an `empire' and the alien Eldriss race are basically the Eldar.

Its essentially a planet which has fallen apart in isolation - so you have separate cultures - some who use lots of tech and live in caves, some who rely on psionics, some who are very military, and a nanotech civilisation. Oh, plus the fish-people. The planet has been sealed off again after a period of being open to interstellar travel, and there are remnants of outside powers hanging around.

My character's civilisation picked the wrong side in the last little altercation and had several large asteroids landed on it Sad
