Needle to Ink:
Current ruling is that I become armed with the weapons of the Form that I am in.
1) What if I am not in form? (Probably will be, but not always)
2) It kind of stifles cross-style abilities (If I am in Crane, with Hook-sword and Fan, can I use Tiger Charms, that are meant to be Claws or unarmed? I am thinking of buying White Reaper, but can I use it's powers if not unarmed/staff/spear?)
Switching between Forms is a Simple action, so I can't be doing that all the time!
Even if it was reflexive, I would like to be able to e.g. (normally available if Unarmed) use Crane Form for Counterstrike, Reaper to cancel Onslaught, and Tiger to boost Counterstrike damage.

Is there a way of choosing what weapon the Ink gives me (including Unarmed)?

1) If you are not in form the evocation is inactive. Activating form activates the Evocation
2) You start with the weapon appropriate to the form, the weapon alters from one type to another styles weapon as the charm activates. You have the choice of what weapon this is in cases when a style has multiple styles.
3) If you choose 'unarmed' as the style weapon for a style you are using at this time then you are unarmed and have no evocation weapon. The Weapon for Unarmed is Unarmed. You are not getting Artifact bonusses for your bare hands. Having the evocation has an opportunity cost.
4) The weapon transformations are in effect reflexive, free and obligatory. They occur as a consequence of the style charm activation, or the default use of an ongoing effect. You have leeway as to which style weapon appears, relating to the current charm. But the weapon WILL alter form.

In your example you would start with a fan to parry, flash into spear to cancel onslaught and finally morph into claws on the counterattack. The charms used dictate when the alterations occur. It does mean the evocation telegraphs what styles you are using.

OK. This sounds good.
