OK, hands up who got this for Christmas (or already had it)

I notice it has some online play options - including a play-by-email version

Anyone interested?

Steve

I'll be up for a spot of that. Smile

I don't have the game yet but it's on my Get list.

Give Civ IV a try on Prince (Or at least Noble).
Got a few wins under my belt. Will post scores when I get a Round Tuit.

I like the new combat system. Not so many "spearman beats tank" results, and promotions for specialising against different unit types.

Beware seige units. One major change in combat strategy -
Civ I-III: Never use catapults.
Civ IV: Use LOTS of catapults. Very good at damaging whole stacks of units. Treat them as disposable.

Yeah, the culture bombs are nice, but on higher levels not so powerful. (Still good tho).
Merchants are ok ... nice idea but seem unreliable to me.

OK, sign me up for an email game.

Have these games started yet? Got the game a few weeks ago and I'm getting into it nicely.

We have Civ IV including Beyond the Sword running over here on Vista, however did need to get the game updates manually from the site (the auto update missed stuff).
