Well a few of us are members (either Leicester or Derby branch) so I'll post here when I hear of the next confirmed game.

For those of you who don't know F&H is a national system of standard issue Fantasy Semi-Contact LRP.

It has been many years since I last played that game.

Do they still have suicide Bandits? Wink

It wouldn't be F&H without suicide bandits. That's like Vampire without pretenciousness!

F&H This month:

23rd. Derby. They need at least 13 people to assure that they'll come (by the 19th).

I will be taking a car up - so if any noobies want to try 'itting people with rubber swords, on very linear, not much thinky adventures, give me a shout...

Decent regular LARP games are hard to find IMO. FnH regular is a bit, well, yer know; railroaded and a bit 'unevolved' IMO (speaking from a Leicester/Derby perspective - have played no other regional games). Weekenders can be good tho.

Probably best attending as many annual events that you can as these games are often rich in non-linear plot and RP. Take a squiz in the GRAND DESIGN forum on this board for one of the better weekend games.

Maelstrom is also fairly new and people have raved about it.

Alternatively, check the PAGGA board (if you haven't already) for news on just about every LARP game, good and bad, big and small.

A week sunday (12/12/04) is Derby's next FnH event, and I'm trying to run a special mission. People to come along and monster would be appreciated.
If you've not LARPed or FnHed before it could be a good practice, or if you're just feeling a bit combat starved then please get in touch!

Well I thought I'd post again to see if any interest could be rekindled in Fools and Heroes. We run at Allestree Park in Derby (2 miles out from the station so it is actually doable on public transport). Membership is 20ukp for the year and allows you to play at day events around the country for free, and weekend events are amongst the cheapest LARP around. New members can get two "taster" games for free without joining just to try it out.

Day events are usually linears, but that isn't necessarily endemic to RolePlaying or storyline and the system does not suffer from newbies being eclipsed by established characters. Despite the opposition an extra hand holding a sword is still an advantage.

Feel free to whet your appetite by looking at a quick summary of the last 3 years of local plot here; http://foolsandheroes.elwiki.com/Derwentshire_History

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
